Sweet Lisbon Guesthouse
Superior Room with River View, 1 King or 2 Singles and Private WC
Decorated in soft and relaxing tones the main feature of these bedrooms are the beautiful view to Alfama, the most typical Lisbon’s neighbourhood. The “Sweet” from our name has it’s origin in the traditional portuguese desserts or main ingredients and were the theme we chose to decorate our lovely guesthouse. After a few research we noticed that most of Portuguese desserts are yellow or brown, so we had to be a little creative otherwise it wouldn’t be possible to have a different colour and decoration for each bedroom.
Canela bedroom has the red colours from Asia from where Cinnamon arrived in Portugal. It’s one of our favorite spices and in our guesthouse we use it to give a special touch to our coffee. Ovos bedroom has the beautiful yellows and whites you can find in the eggs. Pastel de Nata bedroom was decorated with the dark yellows and browns of this amazing cream pie which we serve at breakfast baked in our oven. Licor de Amoras Silvestres bedroom was decorated using the soft tones of violet, purple and blue from blackberries. This liquor not as well known as Ginginha or Moscatel it’s a tradition from Alcobaça and we strongly advice you to try it.
In all bedrooms bedding is flexible and you may choose between a King size bed or 2 singles, just remember to state your preference in your reservation.

Alfama is one of the most emblematic quarters and one of the most rewarding for walkers and photographers thanks to its medieval alleys and outstanding views. It is a village within a city made of narrow streets, tiny squares, churches, and whitewashed houses with wrought-iron balconies decorated with pots of flowers, drying laundry, and singing birds.
Visiting Alfama is to visit the architecture, the sounds and the smells of old Lisbon. This is one of the most typical quarters of Lisbon. Put away your map and wander aimlessly through its alleys and small squares.
Set in a visually stunning hill, this is Lisbon at its most picturesque and the very soul of the city. Walk down towards the river and you’re once again in modern times: old warehouses have been renovated and turned into some of the city’s coolest hotspots.
